Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included her first Oscar for her role in the film Piano. She started her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. As a child, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th class show. After suffering from the mumps, she went deaf in one of the sides the ear. However, this did not stop her ambition to become an actor. In her early years, she was a drama student in college and moved into New York City from Pittsburgh to follow her dreams. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was securing in Swing Shift. Since she was a part of the film, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
