Boettcher was acting since she was just four years old, became famous for playing Melody Fuller on the Amazon Studios Original Series Gortimer's Life on Normal Street. Ashley was chosen to play the role of Jessica Finch as part of the Judy Moody Family Comedy, Not Bummer Summer. Ashley gained further recognition when her character was chosen to play the role of several bears in the Award-winning animated comedy Ernest & Celestine featuring Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson Pauline Brunner. The movie won 14 awards out of the 29 that it was nominated, which included an Oscar.
